Responsible Use
& Practice.
At Mossfield Studio, responsibility isn't a policy document — it's the foundation of how we work. Here's what that means in practice.
Last updated: 1 January 2026
This Responsible Use Policy outlines how Mossfield Studio and our clients are expected to engage with our services, creative outputs, and digital platforms in a way that is ethical, honest, and environmentally considered.
1. Environmental Responsibility
Sustainability is not a marketing position for us — it is a non-negotiable operating principle. In practice, this means:
- We will only specify materials that meet our Sustainable Materials Charter (available on request)
- We commit to carbon-neutral delivery of all procured goods, offset where direct reduction is not yet possible
- We will never recommend the disposal of materials that can be repurposed, donated, or responsibly recycled
- We actively work with clients to reduce project waste and extend the life of existing furnishings where possible
- 1% of every project fee is donated to verified reforestation and ecological restoration programmes
2. Ethical Sourcing
Every supplier in our network is vetted against our Ethical Sourcing Standards, which include:
- Compliance with UK and international modern slavery legislation
- Fair wages and safe working conditions throughout the supply chain
- No use of materials sourced from regions with active deforestation or protected ecological areas
- Preference for locally produced, artisan-crafted, or small-batch materials that support regional economies
- Full material provenance documentation available to clients on request
3. Honest Representation
We will never make sustainability claims about materials or processes that we cannot substantiate. Specifically:
- All "eco", "sustainable", "natural", or "green" labels we apply must be supported by third-party certification or verifiable evidence
- We will disclose any limitations or trade-offs associated with sustainable material choices, including durability, cost, or availability
- We will not use misleading imagery, exaggerated before/after comparisons, or manipulated project photography
4. Responsible Use of Our Website
Users of our website agree not to:
- Scrape, copy, or republish website content, imagery, or design work without written permission
- Submit false or fraudulent enquiries or use our contact forms for unsolicited commercial communication
- Attempt to access restricted areas of our website or interfere with its normal operation
- Use our brand name, logo, or design work in any manner that could imply an unauthorised affiliation or endorsement
5. Responsible Use of Our Design Work
Design materials created by Mossfield Studio — including mood boards, specifications, drawings, and renderings — are licensed for the specific project purpose only. Clients agree not to:
- Share or distribute Mossfield design work publicly without our consent
- Use our designs as reference for other designers or studios without acknowledgement
- Replicate our designs commercially without entering into a formal licensing agreement
6. Reporting Concerns
We take our responsibilities seriously and welcome accountability. If you believe Mossfield Studio or any party in our supply chain has breached our stated commitments, please contact us at [email protected]. All reports will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly.
7. Living Document
This policy is reviewed annually and updated to reflect developments in sustainable design practice, UK legislation, and our evolving standards. We are proud of our commitments and continue to raise the bar — for ourselves and for the industry.
